[She lowers her gun and sighs. Really, explaining all of this crap wasn't her job. That fell on Seamus and Valentino. But. She'll do her best.]

Bridge. Locks onto your brainwave signature and pulls you into this world. That's the short of it. So, welcome to the apocalypse. Don't go up to the surface unless you want to die and if you've got a cellphone in your pocket, it's in your best interest to ditch it.

[If his brother was here, he'd have something to say about the sort of people who'd find Dean's brainwaves appealing. Fortunately, Sam isn't here. Dean frowns as he pulls the cell phone from his pocket.]

What's wrong with my phone?

[accumbens]

The fact it works. If you wanna stay you, get rid of it. If you keep it, Rossum will hack it and broadcast their signal through it. If you get hit by it, everything in your head that makes you you will be gone. Your personality, your memories, your hopes and dreams, all the stuff you're good at, all gone. And you'll either be killing everything in sight or standing there asking if you fell asleep.

[followstheorders]

[It's not in his nature to trust the word of strangers, but she seems very convinced of what she's saying. And it's not like he doesn't change cell phones regularly. He pops the back open to remove the battery and the SIM card.]

Alright, fine. I'll ditch the phone. Now what?

[accumbens]

We're gonna go find Seamus. He's sort of the leader of the survivors down here. He's gonna need to know another has arrived through the Bridge. Follow me.

[She waves with her hand for him to come with as she turns around and starts walking back down the hall.]

But in the meantime, an introduction will do. I'm Maya. A lot of the people around here call me Bastet, though. Either or, I don't really have a preference.

[followstheorders]

[Dean follows her down the hall, taking it all in. He doesn't know if he's going to have to find his way back or not and he'd rather not get lost.]

Okay, Maya. I'm Dean and I'd really kind of like to get home to my family, so... can this Seamus dude make that happen?

[accumbens]

He ain't a miracle worker. If he was, this whole apocalypse thing would've been fixed already. You're stuck here, for now. But you never know, your family might wind up here too.

[followstheorders]

That's not comforting. [The last thing he wants is his dad here. Or even worse, Sam. Better they're somewhere safe.]

[accumbens]

It's not really supposed to be. [She shrugs.]

The best you can hope for now is to survive. Help us fix our world and if we get that far, I'm sure there'll be plenty of time for the geniuses to tinker with a way to send you home.

[followstheorders]

Awesome. [He grits his teeth and tries to keep from saying anything else. Nothing that comes out of his mouth right now is going to be polite and she's the one with the gun.]

[accumbens]

[Maya leads him down a big further and spots Seamus. She doesn't bother with saying hello.]

Weren't you supposed to be watching the Bridge today, genius?

[Seamus looks at them and sighs.]

No. Asha was.

[Maya crosses her arms and turns to leave.]

Well, she isn't. I bet she's off shooting rats for fun again. Should look into that.

[Once she's gone, Seamus addresses Dean.]

Sorry about her. Bastet can be...a pain in the ass sometimes. How much did she tell you about this place?
